Calling all young upcoming Bajan Female Artists!
Do you have what it takes? We’re searching the Nation for the best young female artists, aged 14-25 - representing pop, hip hop, jazz, soca, r&b, gospel, rock, dancehall, blues, alternative, opera, house, dance, country – ALL styles of music! Those selected will be a part of the Honey Jam programme which offers performance, educational, developmental and networking opportunities.
You can do an original song or a cover, but if you do a cover you should bring your own style to it.
WORK WITH VOCAL COACH PRIOR TO AUDITION
We strongly suggest that you work with a vocal coach prior to the auditions- Kellie Cadogan, Marisa Lindsay, Melanie Cox, Rhesa Garnes and Indra Rudder are suggestions to contact. It will be mandatory if chosen that you work with a coach leading up to your performance at the Concert so best to start now to find the best fit for you.
In terms of the audition procedure, please audition with the same material you would do at the concert if chosen. You do not need to pre-register prior to the audition date. You will be given a number when you arrive on the day and will audition when that number is called. Each auditionee only has approximately 1 minute to perform. Judges will rate your performance and those with an average of 8 will be short-listed and then a final selection will be made.
Only those chosen for the concert will be notified. If you don't get a call, it could mean that you didn't get high enough scores from the Judges, or it could be that there were several high scorers in your genre and we could only pick one or two. There is a limited number of spots. Whatever the reason, if you don't get selected we encourage you to still come out and support the show and try out again in the future.
JUDGES (to be announced)
As spots are limited please arrive 1 hour before start time to register.
There will be a $10 adm fee for all artists, musicians, backup singers and spectators.
